Group Interpretation and Interpretation for guided toursThis is a variation of chuchotage interpretation that requires the use of a simplified simultaneous translation system. The interpreter is equipped with a microphone broadcasting on the same frequency as the receivers that are given to the participants. Instead of sitting next to one or more of the participants, the interpreter sits next to the speaker and simultaneously translates without using the headphones. The interpreter's voice is transmitted to the participants over the receivers they have been given. This system is less expensive than simultaneous interpretation, and is suited for small, short meetings, where the use of a traditional booth-based system would be inappropriate due to the space available or to aesthetic considerations. It has the disadvantage of not supporting relay between multiple languages. The number of interpreters required is the same as for the Chuchotage service.
